This is a perfect idea, but would only really work for people to be able to choose if they bring back Excal Prime (explained above)įounders already paid for excal prime, why keep give them something new totally for free? If umbra is released as some kind of "supporters pack exclusive" (even tough it could maim many players hopes and dreams for an enhanced Excalibur, it's very likely and even acceptable) they should have to pay (again) as every player instead of getting it for free. Excalibur Umbra was originally a human, an Orokin Dax soldier who was punished by Ballas for attempting to interfere with his betrayal. Just in case I didn't clarify, Excal Umbra would still be available for purchase for everyone else revealed in stararmor as Excalibur umbra prime per their founders program, it made its way to the global build as 'Excalibur Umbra' the 1st of the Umbra warframe line. But I've heard that if they did bring back Excal Prime, DE could be fined for false advertising. I'm not too bothered either way, but honestly I would like to see Excalibur prime come back. Founders would still have an exclusive prime and Console and New players can have Excalibur prime, Normal Umbra is especial enough that he doesn't need a prime. Keep in mind that I am NOT a founder, but I just think this may be fair. So I was discussing with some people and we came up with the idea of giving Excalibur Umbra Prime for the founders and releasing Excalibur Prime for everyone. That way, the founders still have exclusive content earlier and easier than everyone else, and the rest of us still have the opportunity to catch up. I feel like as soon as I say this, someone's gonna try to throw hydrofluoric acid (nasty stuff) in my face, but in order to combat this whole, "founders being pissed off and non-founders wanting excal p," maybe they should give the Umbra skin/frame to the founders for free, and then make Excalibur Prime available to the general public - but only for purchase and once the game has built up a larger playerbase so that it's fair on the founders and we significantly cut down on future saltiness in the forums. Umbra is a little better, but I think they should just get rid of his stat bonuses over Excalibur Prime and give him the same stats Excalibur Prime has now so most everyone will be happy. Use Excal instead of Excal Umbra. It's nice to see that this still holds up ^ ^ ^ Just hotfix in a simple option for us to switch this function on and off. Just throwing them In steel path would be kinda disappointing. If they add normal Warframe to steel path then its fine but Umbras should have quests since for them to become an Umbra they would have to had pissed off Ballas quite a bit. Along with being the only Warframe with 3 Umbral polarities.īut the solution is easy enough. The point is lore is a bad argument to say Umbras cant be on Steel Path. Either your operator is strong AF and makes Umbra look bad, or your kid is weak and the fight with Umbra and following enemies is frustrating as all hell. I often find myself using the generic Excal more often, which is unfortunate because Umbra has some fashion I quite like. When I think about it, its kinda a no-win scenario. I'm also not entirely sure how Umbra interacts in stealth missions, but I could see there being some problems there too. And it's a problem that a normal Excal doesn't even have.Īlso Umbra can move off the spot and be in entirely different places than where you left him, and if your operator dies that can put you in some strange/dangerous positions. If you need to heal with Magus Arcanes or use focus abilities, you have to recast 4 every time. First, he deactivates your Exalted Blade every time you press 5. The big difference is that Umbra is AI controlled while you are in Operator mode. Until you rank up the Umbral mods enough, regular Excal is more powerful than Umbral. This prototype build does reduce your Radiant Howl to only a 8.5m Radius, but it will last for almost 40s. Using Primed Continuity on top of that bumps the number of AP to 15, or 75 DR. comes with 3 Umbral polarities, which will increase the cost of non-Umbral mods). A build using just an R10 Narrowminded grants 11 AP with 1 AP required for 5 damage reduction, or a max of 55 DR. Excalibur Umbra is a really cool frame, but the passive where he fights alongside your operator isn't always practical. You are now in control of Excalibur Umbra. To get full power out of Excal Umbra, you need those Umbral mods ranked up as high as you can get them (IIRC, they come unranked at first, and E.U. I'm pretty sure I'm not alone on this one.
